No doubt, Mayotte has all the necessary assets for those yearning for a change of scenery : heavenly beaches, lush vegetation, very rich unexplored fauna ... At a time when many people become finally aware of the importance of the environmental issue, our island can serve as a model concerning biodiversity. There stand unspoilt fauna and flora, preserved from the jaws of passing time, a saving oasis for Let's consider the lagoon. It holds within its waters a variety of tropical marine species : dolphins, tortoises, multicoloured fishes ranging from swordfish, to clown triggerfish .... The richness of the coral reef is such that it always brings happiness to any diver in search of big thrills. . Reputed to be one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world, the lagoon is, these days, the subject of special attention from the authorities. Indeed, because of the lagoon's age-old function of foster mother in fish and other seafood in the island, it undergoes the damage due to the constant pressure on the environment, to a great increase of the population and to the growing number of fishermen, which leads to the progressive degradation of the marine environment, making us fear the worst if we are not careful.
